Lonzello, Kathleen M.

Lonzello, Kathleen Mary, age 61 of Newton, NJ passed away peacefully at Newton Medical Center on Sunday, February 1st, 2015.  Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she grew up in Hillside, and had lived in Garfield for many years before settling in Newton in 1990.    


            Daughter of the late John and Mary (Bizon) Gurdon, Kathleen graduated Hillside High School and was a graduate of Kean University with degrees in Business and Special Education.  Kathleen was a computer analyst for Verizon in Madison, NJ for many years. She enjoyed cooking and was a volunteer for the Sussex County Youth Orchestra.  A loving and devoted mother, she was a true friend to many. 


            Predeceased by her parents, her brother Steven Gurdon, sister Barbara Ciccone, nephew Sean Walters, and brother in law Richard Walters, she is survived by her loving son Garret John Lonzello, also of Newton; her sister Susan Walters of Gladys, VA; niece Dawn Burd; and cousin Vivian Kaplin.       

Visitation for Kathleen will be held on Friday, February 6th, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 7-8pm in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Route 206), Newton, NJ 07860. Funeral services will follow visitation at 8pm.
