Bucantis, Helen A. "Honey

            Bucantis, Helen A. “Honey” age 88 of the Lake Tranquility Section of Green Twp. died peacefully Wednesday February 17, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Newark, NJ she had lived there for many years before moving to Lake Tranquility in 1957.

             Daughter of the late James and Winifred (Henry) Benedict, Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker. A member of the Hackettstown VFW Ladies Auxiliary, she was also a member of the Green Twp. Senior Citizens. Helen was a longtime volunteer for the Green Twp. Board of Elections as well as the M&M Mars retires club.

             A long time parishioner of the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, Helen was pre deceased by her beloved husband of sixty five years Joseph Bucantis in 2012 as well as her brother James Benedict. Survivors include her sons James of Reading, PA and Joseph and his wife JoMarie of Tampa, FL. Also surviving are her daughters Barbara Henry of Staten Island, NY and JoEllen Barrett and her husband Michael Barrett of Lake Tranquility as well as her grandchildren Michael, Shawn and Travis Barrett.     

           A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday February 27, 2016 at 12:00 PM in the Good Shepherd RC Church Rt. 517 Andover, NJ immediately followed by interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday February 26th from 3-7 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice www.karenannquinlanhospice.org

JoEllen and Family, We were so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I always remember her walking with Mrs. Brown around the lake and speaking with her about her grandchildren. She was such a wonderful woman!
