Wyckoff, John Blair

Wyckoff, John Blair age 64 of Andover Twp., NJ died Friday October 3, 2014 at the Newton Medical Center. Born in Newark, NJ he grew up and had lived many years in West Orange. Mr. Wyckoff had also lived in Newton for twenty four years before moving to Andover Twp. ten years ago.

A graduate of the West Orange, NJ High School “The Mountaineer’s” class of 1969, John was the owner operator of Wyckoff Plumbing and Heating for thirty years before taking the position of Plumbing Inspector for Hardyston, Wantage and West Milford Township’s.

A long time member and past officer of the PHCC of North Jersey, John was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, camping and fishing as well as motorcycle riding. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather son and brother, John will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Pre deceased by his father John Dumont Wyckoff; he is survived by his beloved wife Linda A. (Brandine) Wyckoff, his daughters Tara Wyckoff of Andover Borough, and Dana and her husband Richard Reinhart of Bangor, PA. Also surviving are his mother Norma Wyckoff of Brick, his sisters Gayle and her husband Kevin Melervey of Northport, FL and Cathy and her husband Timothy Eland of Hightstown, NJ as well as his cherished grandchildren  Angela Wyckoff, Owen, Nolan and Benjamin Reinhart.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday October 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the Iliff Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, N.J. Interment to immediately follow in the Newton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday Oct. 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org

John you always made me laugh! You were such a good friend to my husband. You got me to go off-roading. I was always so impressed to hear your devotion to your grandchildren and enjoyed your stories about them. I'll miss you.

John, it is impossible for me to mention all my fond memories of you here. Above all, you were a teacher, colleague, mentor, and friend to me. Your support and belief in me over the years was truly inspirational, and could only be matched by my own family. But then again, I always thought of you as family. You will be missed greatly, but I will always carry your advice and teachings with me and they will always be reflected in my work and my life.
