Rice, William J., Jr., age 61 of Andover Twp., NJ died Thursday, April 9th, 2015 at the Newton Medical Center. Born in Flushing Queens, NY, William had also lived in Lake Neepaulin and Succasunna before moving to Andover Twp., NJ fifteen years ago.

Son of the late William J. Sr. and Helen E. (Eisele) Rice, William graduated Hofstra University in 1975 with a BS in mechanical engineering.  A loving and devoted father, Mr. Rice had worked for thirty years as an engineer for Picatinny Arsenal in Jefferson, NJ. 

Pre deceased by his loving wife, Marie, in 2009, he is survived by his son Frank Rice of Poughkeepsie, NY, and his companion and love of his life, Barbara A. Smith of Lafayette, NJ.  He is also survived by his brother Kenneth J. and Maureen Rice of Schuylerville, NY, as well as two cats Rainy and Tripper.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14th, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Route 206) Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the Good Shepherd RC Cemetery Andover, NJ. Visitation will be held Monday, April 13th, 2015 at the Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
