Bober, Marlyn P.

LAFAYETTE - Marlyn (Mary) Bober (nee Liszkowicz), age 95, passed away at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice on September 3, 2016.  Marlyn was born in 1921 in Dupont, PA, moving to New Jersey as a teenager.  She lived in Newark where she raised her family, then moved to Lafayette over 30 years ago.

She was a member of the Lafayette Senior Club and loved playing Bingo at Rev. Brown School and doing puzzles.  She was happiest when she was with her family.

Marlyn was predeceased by her husband, George, a sister Sophie Turos and brothers Al and Joe.  She was a devoted mother to her four daughters, Eileen Ziegler and husband Bob, Sharon Andrews and husband Bob, Donna Mikita and late husband Andy, and Michele Bober.  She was also a loving grandmother to Chris Gorrell and husband Tom, Michael Ziegler, Andrea Mikita, Kyle Andrews and Whitney Andrews.

A special thanks to the staff at Newton Memorial Hospital and the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice who lovingly cared for our Mom and made her comfortable.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 12-3 with funeral services beginning at 3:00 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Rt. 206) Newton, New Jersey 07860.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, New Jersey 07860.

Marilyn was my across the street neighbor for 33 years. Also grandmother to one of my closest friends. She was the sweetest, kindest person who was always concerned for how we were doing (given our own difficult situation with my disabled mother). Since giving up my home in Lafayette a little over a year ago, I miss stopping by to discuss life and listen to her words of wisdom. She lived a long, fruitful life. My heart is heavy that we have lost yet another good apple in the world. I hope she is at peace and yucking it up with George as we speak. Love Glenn and Christopher Curcione

Marlyn was one of our most treasured Aunts. Mainly because of her kindness, sense of humor and for the loving care she gave to the entire "Bober" family and relatives. When thinking back to the many "Bober" parties that we had, and we had many, one can only remember her fun loving approach to life. I'm sure that will continue not that she's with her lifetime partner, friend and husband George. Rest In Peace Marlyn, Charles and Abbe Connelly

Ah...Aunt Marlyn & Uncle George. Were they the cutest couple you ever saw or what? They BOTH were my "favorites" for sure. And Aunt Marlyn would always express her gladness to see me whenever we would meet at family get-togethers. That made me feel very "special". Thank you Aunt Marlyn for that! Since the Bobers and Connellys have a very similar upbringing, our Love for each other continues to this day. My Condolences with Deepest Sympathy to the immediate family.
