Bencivenga, Anna R. (D’Annibale) age 96 of Newton passed away Saturday April 30, 2016 at the Newton Medical Center. Born and raised in Newton, she has been a lifelong resident.

Daughter of the late Giovanni and Ersilia (Celano) D’Annibale, she attended the Newton Public School system and was a graduate of Newton High School class of 1937. A long time parishioner of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Anna began working as a young girl for the former JJ Newberry Store Newton. She had worked many years as a Weaver for the former Darlington Mills until her retirement. A dedicated member of the VFW Post 5360 Newton Ladies Auxiliary. Anna was always young at heart with a good sense of humor.

Beloved by many; she was a strong presence in her family and she leaves behind many cherished memories. Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter C. in 1999 as well as her sister Mary Pizzicaroli, her five brothers Joseph, Vincent, Frank, John D’Annibale and Louis Scalzo.  She is survived by her loving son Michael J. of Newton as well as several nieces and nephews.

           Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 4, 2016 at 9:30 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 main St. (Rt. 206) Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph RC Church Cemetery Newton. Visitation will be held in the funeral home Tuesday May 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Newton Fire Department www.newtonfiredepartment.org
